Lafayette, LA

As we wrap up the final quarter of the year, it's time to reflect on the incredible activities and achievements that have marked our journey. The past few months have been bustling with activity, growth, and notable accomplishments across various facets of our organization.

Leadership is the cornerstone of our organization, and this quarter saw exceptional strides in nurturing leadership skills and character development among our members. As our organization continues to grow, we've identified the importance of creating smaller, more closely-knit groups within our Squadron.  We welcome the new Charlie Flight into operation. This strategic move has allowed us to allocate resources more effectively and foster stronger cohesion among our members. With this structural change, we've filled new staff positions, thereby broadening leadership opportunities and enriching the leadership experience across the Squadron.

Consistent weekly meetings provided a platform for learning, discussion, and growth as well as fun with hosting a challenging Escape Room fun night. Weekend activities we are excited to have conducted a Mini Curry Drill Camp, attended SAREX training where two GTM 3 certifications were achieved, hosted a Flag Retirement Ceremony, as well as attended Cadet Advisory Council meetings further fostering values that define our commitment to excellence.

Our commitment to aerospace education was vividly demonstrated through our immersive educational sessions. The aerospace program offered an engaging, hands-on experience led by Crystal Rapinchuk from Code Ninja. Cadets undertook robotics and coding sessions, personally constructing and programming their own projects. This interactive approach not only sparked excitement but also provided invaluable practical skills and knowledge in the realm of aerospace technology.

Our patriotism was honorably expressed through the Color Guard's presentations at two football games where a display of respect and pride was given to our flag. The Color Guard's accomplishments were nothing short of remarkable. Beyond presenting the flag at football games and participating in solemn ceremonies, they took center stage in two Christmas Parades, captivating audiences with their precision and grace. Additionally, their dedication to preparation for the upcoming Color Guard Competition demonstrates their commitment to excellence. Also, to round out our expression of gratitude for our country and it’s fallen soldiers, the Squadron’s participation in Wreaths Across America showcased our commitment to honoring veterans as we sold an impressive 612 wreaths.

Our End of the Year Banquet was a memorable highlight, held at the prestigious Petroleum Club of Lafayette, hosted and funded by our Booster Club affectionately known as the PACC. This formal evening was graced by esteemed guests Congressman Clay Higgins and MSgt Seneca Linder, USAF Military Training Instructor. The evening was not only an elegant affair, but a moment to celebrate the achievements of our members. Several awards were bestowed, recognizing outstanding contributions and commitment to our mission.
