CAP, the official U.S. Air Force auxiliary, is a nonprofit organization with more than 59,000 members. CAP performs 95% of U.S. inland search and rescue missions. Volunteers also perform homeland security, disaster relief and counterdrug missions at the request of government agencies. The members play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to nearly 25,000 young people in CAP’s cadet program.
Adult members are called “senior” members and range in age from 18 years and older, with no upper age limit. CAP has been performing missions for America for over 70 years. Become a CAP volunteer and be a part of CAP’s legacy of service. Here are just a few ways you can make a difference in CAP:
• Participate in aviation and ground search and rescue
• Mentor youth and help develop them into responsible citizens and leaders
• Provide disaster relief
• Inspire and teach children through aerospace education
• Provide critical civilian support to the United States Air Force as well as other federal, state and local agencies.
